It snowed here in Calgary over the weekend, and I had the ‘joy’ of shovelling snow. It got me thinking about how many scarves, gloves, and toques (beanies) do you and I really need?
Seasonal items are anything that you only use through part of the year and can include snow-weather items but also warm-weather items like sunhats and sunglasses.
I am not advising you only to have two scarves, one toque, and two pairs of gloves. This isn’t a counting exercise or a judgement from me. But do you have more than you need? No, seriously stop and think about it for a minute. How many toques do you need? How many scarves? How many gloves? How many pairs of sunglasses?
To be transparent – I have quite a few toques, scarves, gloves, etc. I don’t like to be cold and have a variety of items for a variety of levels of cold. This is important to me living in a cold-weather country. I don’t limit the number of these items specifically, but I only have what I feel I need.
On the flip side, I have one sunhat that I only really wear if I am gardening and a couple of baseball hats. I don’t currently have a pair of sunglasses 🤷♀️.
The question is, how many seasonal items are enough for you?
